Your air conditioner has two primary jobs: cooling your home and keeping it comfortable. A common myth is that a big air conditioner will accomplish both tasks more effectively than a smaller system. After all, a bigger, more powerful system means more cool air, faster, right? While there’s truth to this, a larger AC does not always equal more comfort. In fact, an AC that is too big – or too small – for your home can cause several problems down the road.
When buying a new AC, choosing between variable speed, single stage or two stage will impact your electric bill and your comfort. In this post, we’ll unpack what makes a variable speed system superior to the rest.
Have you noticed any areas in your home that always tend to be warmer or cooler than others? The good news – uneven temperature is a common problem. The even better news – there’s something you can do about it. Let’s explore five common causes of hot and cold spots with simple solutions. Then, we’ll delve into four other potential problem areas that call for more complex remedies.
Dear Ted Steele,
On October 23, we had a Lennox system installed. We are extremely satisfied with it. Brad and Robert had both told us that the old Carrier was dying. We were anxious about the trouble, time and mess it was going to be. The handler closet is in the middle hallway - the route goes through the laundry area and the garage. There are bedrooms on both sides - our place is very small. We were not looking forward to the carnage! Tony and John showed up (on a rainy day) and assured all would be well. We left and when we returned, they were finishing up. House, garage, and even the yard around the unit were neat and clean - totally fantastic! Brad came to help change out something at the end - it was a long day for all of them! Brad also returned to change out "stuff" in the fuse box. Everyone involved did a great job. They retained their humor and spirit throughout this long, hard process. The results are amazing. We had a very bad install previously - with with pipes and wires exploding out of the bulkhead! We have the condensate drain that needs a pump! The closet was a mess to look at! It's all changed - everything is sealed and neat. All of these men were very polite, professional and neat. Tony, especially, is very verbal and chop-chop and gives you confidence that the job is going to go well! He and John are a great team!
We have been with Kobie for a long time - this is the second house - and we are still happy!
P.S. I forgot to mention Leah - she is always very helpful. We've already received our rebate check!Augusta B.
